GOD's OWN COUNTRY OR DON's OWN COUNTRY - by Soorya

Many a times I have heard that - even now - when you hear the name KERALA,  we all should be so proud  (Yes in Malayalam the saying Our Blood Boils in Our Veins), but let me ask you do you think this happens now?? Yes, in these days????

Now if you say Kerala -  it is really identified   or defined as  a State with  more than 20 days of hartals, bandhs,  picketing, etc., in a month. Yes, after-all only one question arises:  all these are for what? For whom and why? No normal public do like these sorts of  agitations. Yes - our Kerala is blessed  with  abundant  number of political parties and  gangs like thousands of mushrooms.  Just a mere  misunderstanding is brought to religious  or made into cast or tribal issues in turn into religious threats and gang wars. All these are for whom? Do you agree that  the normal public in our state is pleased with this? This is  just showered or forced on them!

No one can try and get a livelihood for a single person by way of help for him to survive,  but in turn   will grab some opportunities from those who really deserve and  get it for some one who does not deserve or it is gifted to some local folk who is either not qualified for the same or even can’t do  anything after  acquiring such situations  too. This is  today's  God’s Own Country or KERALA.

Normal people who thrive to work hard  from morning till late evenings for their family  or those who really wish to do something fruitful are all cornered nowadays  by political massacare. Lowline  people who have to work on a 'Do or Die' basis are chopped by these so called unrests which political demons claim as to be their or OUR  Rights. They get gathered or get grouped like a herd of useless buffalos.  Move like a gushing stream through the busy streets to watch and  to be watched by throwing closed fists  towards the sky which do not  lliterally have any effect or result as these  leaders think proudly.

Yes, I do like to bring some points shared by my friends here  like our  Kerala is gifted fully by natural resources.  Green vegetation, which nowadays is really a dream, was there in abundance but where is it now?? How did we lose all these?? And why?  We  raise slogans and create such hartals, bandhs, etc., for the rising prices of petrol/diesel as in turn it will affect our normal commodities that we need for our daily life.  Since 75% of vegetables, fruits and articles for our daily consumption are depended by us from other states. We have plenty of land for cultivation but we are interested to build palatial landmarks and castles of honour on these lands and we don’t think of farming or cultivation.

We would rather go to the city or town to a fast food hut or open air restaurant to have the same  KAPPA  &  MEEN Curry  (eventhough spoiled) we enjoy it by paying in class  of style rather than cook the same at our house  even it is easily available.  We all show interest to plant shurbs & cactus in or within our house  but will never ever think to grow some vegetable plants as it may not suit our status ( All these  points is really indebted to one of my friends who gave me the same said examples and points for discussion).

If each one of us now start thinking, though late, we can still make lots and lots of changes to these cursed situation and make hope for good for our growing children and future of our own land. As a saying everything has got its own limits so we also should think and  do the deeds to that limit only. If we think good the whole thing will turn to be good for all of us but if we all have a thirst to destroy and spoil by expecting developments then I could say it would be only a disaster which we  all have to face in the future.

So, please think, do and thrive work hard for our land/our family. Our Future thus to make the other name of our KERALA to its own meaningful word: GOD’S OWN COUNTRY.  We all still have time. We all still have skeleton resources which can be turned into abundancy. Let we all still have  the desire and  prayers that may really really bring us or let me say give us the Heaven in our own Land.

  2. good thinking, lets hope the thoughts turn to action.

to make the name of our KERALA meaningful we should start from ourselves, but the fact is that we are in this part of world to make the life of our family and ourselves more secure & beautiful.

Even if we want sometimes, we are not allowed
    by the situation.
